Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Consultant

Areas of responsibility:

In addition to its primary role of supporting the GBV team, the SRH consultant is expected to have a certain interaction with the community itself. In this respect, the consultant is required to follow up closely with the midwives in their daily support to women and their families with sexual and reproductive health related matters, conduct learning sessions for the team, and work closely with high risk cases if deemed necessary. The consultant will be based in the static safe spaces with minimum field trips when required

The Consultant shall provide the project management team with monthly reports addressing the teams progress, challenges and recommendations. The consultant shall be flexible and ready to answer the project’s needs. The consultant is expected to provide the following:

  • Prepare and conduct learning sessions according to the needs of the team.
  • Support the team in drafting the materials to be delivered in the field
  • Provide support to case management team as deemed necessary.
  • Ensuring project participants are properly received and supported as per their need
  • Provide basic education and information to beneficiaries and families if deemed appropriate
  • Participate in training, orientation, competency assessment and education of team members
  • Communicate clearly, concisely and accurately, creating a working climate that provides growth and job satisfaction of personnel
  • Collaborate with the project’s management unit on a regular basis, and advise management on best practices of integration of GBV and SRH
  • Prepare and present monthly reports
  • Represent AND in sector related meetings, e.g. health working group
  • Follow up on feedback and complaint mechanism.

Education & Experience  

  • Advanced degree or equivalent in public health, or other related fields; clinical degree (medicine, midwifery, nursing)
  • Experience with NGO is a plus
  • Experience in community health is a plus
