Soap Molding Trainer

In partnership with UNICEF, AND is operating safe spaces in Akkar (static and mobile) for women and adolescent girls. These spaces provide holistic services focusing on psychosocial support, violence prevention, livelihoods strengthening and social cohesion to diverse vulnerable populations Syrian and Lebanese, including women and girls, and survivors of Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV), torture and trauma. AND is seeking a trainer with a strong background on handcrafts, especially soap making. 

These services include skills building trainings for women and girls on several, diverse topics including soap making. Thus, the need for a Soap molding trainer. The trainer is required to coordinate with the project manager to combine the needs of the trainees with the training material in accordance with protection priorities determined for the women and children                 

Areas of Responsibility:

The main task to be completed by the trainer shall be:

Providing training workshops on soap molding and decoration along with production of dishwashing liquid at home to a group of women and adolescent girls in selected areas in Akkar. A training cycle shall comprise 12 hours workshop that covers the following:

• Identification of needed material for the confection of soap
• Ensuring safeguards and personal protection in soap making process
• How to make homemade oil soap (method of preparation, necessary materials, and necessary tools…).
• How to make dishwashing liquid at home (method of preparation, necessary materials, and necessary tools...).

The trainer shall provide the training workshop to a group of 10 women in Akkar.

Learning shall be provided in cycles. A training cycle of 12 hours divided by 4 days.

Training locations: in the safe space Miniara –Hrar and SDC Hissa – Akkar.

Deliverables

The consultant shall be responsible for the following deliverables.

• Training Syllabus and timetable
• A comprehensive list of all needed items (equipment and material) for the training cycle.
• Training Curriculum.
• Final report at the end of the training cycle.
