Soft Skills Trainer

Project Overview

Akkar Network for Development (AND) has been working in Akkar for the last 6 years with women, youth and local authorities to promote the well-being of the community. In addition to other interventions in the area AND is currently working on encouraging and supporting youth volunteering initiatives, part of the NVSP with MOSA.

In this respect, and to ensure that volunteers are acquiring a set of information needed for their civic education and involvement with the community, AND will be providing a set of trainings on the following subjects, human rights, communication skills, personal hygiene, prevention on substance abuse…

 Areas of Responsibility

The trainer must provide different session to a group of youth in Akkar. The main tasks to be completed by the trainer shall be:

• Identify knowledge and skills needed.
• Be responsible for defining the goals and the methods used for the training module/session.
• Schedule work and activities related to the Training module/session.
• Prepare appropriate instructional aids and display materials to enhance learning.
• Deliver the training in a friendly and interactive manner.
• Maintain a record of  attendees and provide feedback.
• Evaluate attendees performance, knowledge and skills after the completion of the training module/session.

Competencies

• Strong communication and facilitation skills and ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders in a sensitive environment.
• S/he must be able to respond quickly for requests for information.
• S/he should demonstrate strong interpersonal and motivational skills and sensitivity to the local environment as well as the ability to work with minimal supervision.  

Required qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree/advanced diploma in education, law, social sciences, humanities, or related field.
• Experience in delivering trainings to youth
• Good knowledge of local context and community in the region of Akkar, Lebanon.
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and strong team spirit.

Training location: Akkar.

Reporting

The trainer shall report to the Project Manager
