Trainer On Children's Rights

Akkar Network for Development (AND) has been working in Akkar for the last 5 years with women, youth and local authorities to promote the well-being of the community. In addition to other interventions in the area, AND is currently working on a number of protection initiatives aiming to reduce violence against women and children, along with women and youth empowerment. In partnership with UNICEF, AND is planning to implement a child rights project aiming to empower duty bearers for them to realize the importance of children rights; provide a safe space for boys and girls to actively participate in this process and voice their needs. AND will implement this initiative in two areas, Wadi Khaled and Sahel. Throughout this project, AND team will organize two types of awareness sessions: the first for parents/caregivers, to enhance knowledge about children rights and for children/youth aged between 10-15 years old allowing them to get knowledgeable about their own rights, thus initiating the rights/duties dialogue within the communities. These awareness session will focus on the right to participation, right to health and survival along with the right to education and right to protection. The purpose of this consultancy is to train AND team & to produce learning and training materials based on UNICEF’s guidelines & applicable related laws.     Areas of Responsibility:  Life skills   The main task to be completed by the consultant shall be: -          Providing training workshops on children rights to AND team on the following topics: right to participation, right to health and survival, right to education and right to protection. -          Support the team developing interactive and detailed training sessions. -          Providing all related materials to be used with each target group to ensure proper delivery of training workshops on child rights. Training locations: AND office – Halba /Akkar. Deliverables The consultant shall be responsible for the following deliverables. 1.      Training Program and schedule. 2.      Training Curriculum (Power point presentations, videos, forms, exercises, etc. for training   sessions ;) 3.      Final Appraisal at the end of the training.   Level of Effort The Trainer shall have the following number of days allotted for this task:   Task LOE Children right training 2 days TOTAL 2 days Reporting The consultant shall report to the Project Manager, Mrs. Aline Abdo
