Responsibilities: (in bullet points)
- Support the Project manager with the assessment of HR, logistics and financial needs at different stages of the activities.
- Participate with the PM in the regular review of the program work plans, financial forecasts vs spending, and achievements towards set objectives, and take part in developing proposals with the technical/ managerial inputs as needed.
- Conduct regular site visits and implement follow-up/assessment tools to ensure the good implementation of the activities and its impact on beneficiaries.
- Meet with donors and partners at the field level when delegated by the line management, identify potential challenges and opportunities in collaboration with senior management.
- Identify and anticipate any risks and constraints related to the ongoing activities and propose adjustments accordingly.
- Ensure the safety of persons and equipment at intervention/project sites is guaranteed in collaboration with related stakeholders.
- Follow up and update the BOQ tasks and budget lines upon need
- Partake in the budget plan for the activities with the support of the PM
- Partake with construction supervisors and technical advisor in the design of the water and wastewater innovation projects
- Regularly monitor, review and update the implementation plan of the current in process activities (mainly);
- Construction work in ISs,
- Water and wastewater treatment systems,
- Technicians’ activities and action plan
- Sampling for wastewater treatment systems.
- Comply with Akkarouna’s policies and practices with respect to child protection, code of conduct, Child Safeguarding Policy, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
Team Management
- Day-to-day management and supervision of Construction Supervisors and Technician to ensure timely and quality implementation.
- Ensure that performance reviews are carried out according to defined procedures, and monitor the professional development of staff under Construction DPM management.
- Participate in the recruitment of technical staff under Construction DPM responsibility.
- Identify any training need and conduct relevant technical trainings in accordance with operational requirements.
- Ensure the link with the Construction and the Wash teams and the transmission of relevant information at all stages of the program
Reporting/Communication
- Ensure timely submission of high-quality reports; internally (APU, weekly, quarterly/ interim and final reports, as needed) to the PM, and externally (Activity Info, RDMS, etc., as needed) with proper supporting documentation.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships and communications with different stakeholders, including internal departments, Akkarouna’s partners, municipalities/local authorities, and UN agencies.
- Ensure the proper archiving of data related to project implementation by the team.
- Represent Akkarouna in related meetings, as needed.
Experience and technical competencies required: (include years of experience)
- Previous experience in Construction works
- Previous experience in humanitarian field is preferable
- Fluent spoken and written Arabic and English
- Strong technical skills
- Good reporting skills
- Strong social and communication skills
- Diplomatic, problem-solver, having good conflict-resolution skills
- Strong, developed leadership ability, and effective project and staff management skills required;
