Education Specialist

Project Introduction

“Youth Livelihoods Empowerment” is a project that will be implemented by Al Fayhaa Association in agreement and funded by the U.S. Embassy in Lebanon. The project seeks to improve professional capacities of vulnerable Lebanese University youth by providing them with thematic professional training and volunteering opportunities and financial support to continue/remain their University Degree. University Lebanese youth in return will enhance the technical and soft skills of vulnerable youth and increase their involvement in social issues through different means. The project will be implemented in Tripoli.

Major Responsibilities

  • Plans and designs curricula for educational programs; defines objectives and outcomes, and methodologies to meet program goals as needed.
  • Manages and facilitates educational activities including trainings Youth groups (University Level or out of school/education)
  • Develops trainings related to facilitation skills and pedagogy. Develops all training materials and manuals related to this project
  • Conducts regular meetings across trainers (Youth Groups) and monitors them through classroom observations for feedback
  • Coordinates activities of support staff, consultants, faculty, and/or volunteers engaged in implementation and administration of program objectives.
  • Any other relevant tasks necessary for the successful implementation of the program

Job Requirements:

Academic Qualification

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Education, or any relevant field

Professional Experience

 

2 to 3 years of experience in teaching or working within the educational field

Experience in developing lesson plans and classroom programs

Experience in coordinating subjects within projects mainly within two or more of the following fields; English, Arts, Computer Science and Robotics.

Experience in working with vulnerable individuals

 

Skills

  • Spoken and written fluency in English, Arabic and French is an assist.
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Leadership skills are a must.
  • Capacity to work in teams and flexibility to take on new tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word.
  • Dynamic leader with creative problem-solving skills, particularly in challenging situations.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong management skills
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relations with people of different cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to-detail.
