Outreach Volunteer

Major Under the guidance of the Outreach Coordinator, the outreach workers should be able to:

  • Conduct outreach in all pre identified locations (Akkar)
  • Register children on KOBO
  • Upload data on server daily
  • Follow up on the attendance of children on a Daily basis to maintain the target.
  • Conduct awareness sessions to caregivers on positive parenting and other topics.
  • Map out schools and other educational services in the area.
  • Support in the referral of children to formal education or other educational services.
  • Report on challenges encountered, good practices and recommendations for the program
  • Participate in relevant trainings including safe identification and referrals, child safeguarding
  • Take initiative to respond quickly to unexpected challenges.
  • Outreach participants through field visits and/ or via phone calls.
  • Data entry & validation.
  • Take part in conducting needs assessments and filling out surveys.
  • Distribute relevant materials and educational kits if needed.
  • Assistant the beneficiaries from home to center and vice versa.
  • Respect beneficiary confidentiality.
  • Respect and promote Al Fayhaa Policies and report to their line manager any non-respect of policies amongst the teams
  • Address needs and requests in a professional way
  • Report any incident or act that causes any harm to the beneficiary or others.
  • Ability to interact with children in the presence or the absence of their parents

Requirements & skills:

  • Fresh graduated or university students, 1-2 years of experience in any relevant field
  • The volunteer must have a good knowledge of and familiarity with the target areas, including local community and population habits and behaviors, public and private stakeholders, focal points or local leaders within the community, concentration of vulnerable population in specific areas (Akkar).
  • it is preferable that the volunteer live close to the center where the program is implemented.
  • The volunteer must be skilled in the use of Excel and Word.
  • Communication skills: The volunteer should be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly articulate information, be a good listener and able to establish positive relationships and build trust with people at all levels.
  • Planning skills: The volunteer should be able to develop and respect work plans, work independently, manage time effectively, meet deadlines and plan house visits.
  • Social consciousness: The volunteer should be socially aware of the socio-economic situation of the area and how it can affect children’s enrolment in and attendance of education.
