Project Manager

Under the overall guidance of the General Manager, the incumbent of this post will be responsible for the proper planning and execution of all projects’ activities. This requires planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, control, and guidance to all staff working on the executive level. The incumbent of this post is also in charge of developing timely progress reports to donors, management and any other party affiliated with the project being implemented.

Major Responsibilities:
Planning Projects

Defines the scope of projects in collaboration with senior management.
Creates a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the projects.
Determines the resources (time, money, equipment, etc) required to complete the projects.
Develops a schedule for projects’ completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.
Reviews projects’ schedules with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the projects’ activities; and revises the schedules as required.
Determines the objectives and measures upon which the projects will be evaluated at their completion.

  Implementing Projects

Executes projects according to projects’ plans.
Records and documents projects’ activities.
Sets up files to ensure that all projects’ information are appropriately documented and secured.
Monitors the progress of projects and makes adjustments as necessary to ensure their successful completion.
Establishes a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the projects.
Reviews the quality of the work completed with the project team and under the supervision of the Quality Control Manager on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards

   Controlling Projects

Writes reports on projects for management and for funders.
Communicates with funders as outlined in funding agreements.
Monitors cash flow projections and reports actual cash flow and variance to senior management on a regular basis (monthly/bimonthly).
Evaluates projects.
Ensures that projects’ deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.
Evaluates the outcomes of projects as established during the planning phase.

Professional Experience

A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, at the national and international levels, in managing small-scale and medium-scale projects.
Previous experience in a supervisory/managerial post is required.
Experience in report writing.
Experience in Non-Governmental Organizations is preferable.

Skills

Spoken and written fluency in English and Arabic. (French is a plus)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.

Strong organizational skills and attention to-detail.
Knowledge of contextual diversity of various areas of Tripoli, Lebanon.
