About Al Hadatha
HADATHA Association is a national NGO established in 13/03/2006 and registered at MOI under number 87/A.D to support the roles of various community segments by developing their capabilities, and reduce economic vulnerability by promoting their skills, and facilitating community access to social, humanitarian, and development work
Hadatha Association seeks to recruit a financial officer to handle all the accounting and financial procedures.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Managing budgets and ensuring the entries of expenditures and income
- Ensuring the recording and archiving of supporting documents needed per transaction and procurement following the relevant procurement policies (internal and/or of donors and partners)
- Following up on purchases and expenditures with team members
- Preparing and submitting monthly financial reports: balance sheet, trial balance, profit/loss report, cash flow, and any other based on need.
- Reconciling bank statements with internal entries
- Maintaining an organized archive of documentation related to human resources
- Developing an admin and procurement system and rolling it out
- Supporting the capacity building of team members on the admin and finance
- Monitor due dates for payments of contracts
- Prepare the payment files and ensure that all documents are complying with Hadatha and Donors regulations and procedures
- Check before recording any entry, that the invoices are compliant with Hadatha-Donors’s regulations and procedures;
- Record all expenses in the excel books on a daily basis, and properly fill in the information needed (date, accounting code, project, budget code, etc.);
- Issue vouchers and properly archive the invoices and saga vouchers in dedicated files as per donors’ rules and regulations
- Collect all invoices exempted from the VAT and issue a quarterly report;
- Prepare the accountancy files;
- Prepare the bank reconciliation at the end of each month;
- Be responsible for the monthly closing and submit it to Finance Officer and Manager for validation;
- Be responsible of the preparation of the annual closing documents for the base
- Assist in the preparation for the external audit visits (i.e. donor visits, Coordination visits, etc.).
- Translate invoices to English when necessary
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting, Business Administration strongly preferred or other related studies
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting, finance and administrative roles preferably with an international or local NGO
- Familiarity the relevant public donors’ regulations is highly required
- Proficiency in the use of accounting software
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical skills and attention to details
- Excellent time management skills
- Willingness to demonstrate, apply and share technical expertise with the team
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and meet deadlines
- Fluent in Arabic and English, French is a plus
