The overall purpose of the role:
Manage protection desk at the community center in order to provide information to refugees about available services and to do the right referral to partners and relevant services. Ensure proper counseling and information sharing.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Protection desk in terms of receiving refugees and host community members.
- Provide information and counseling about available services and hotlines.
- Conduct awareness/information sessions with POC about protection-related topics.
- Conduct safe identification and referral of cases to relevant service providers while explaining the consequences.
- Do not raise the beneficiary's expectations and let them decide their wishes to proceed with referrals or not while referring all the beneficiaries to needed services in a confidential way.
- All referrals should be filled and finalized on the referral information management system (RIMS).
- Conduct outreach visits on weekly basis to reach vulnerable beneficiaries in vulnerable communities.
- Filing of all the data entries of all referrals on the internal referral tracker for proper follow-up on referrals.
- Filling out all day-to-day received beneficiaries on the ITT.
- Data entry of relevant information on Alpha database or any relevant database.
- Inform and update colleagues regarding the service mapping, hotline lists, and available services.
- Provide weekly/monthly reports regarding the protection desk as qualitative and quantitative data.
- Support in any relevant protection activity.
- Any other duties relating to the nature of the job as directed by DRC CE Officer.
Experience and technical competencies: (include years of experience)
- At least 2 years experience in humanitarian, protection, counseling fields
- Good knowledge of protection principles in humanitarian settings
- Good knowledge of vulnerability criteria
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination, and safety of beneficiaries at all times
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication/listening skills and team player
- Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible with working hours, and able to handle pressure well
- Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel)
- Preferred experience in an international organization and humanitarian settings
- Previous experience working with Syrian Refugees in Lebanon
