Mount Hermon: Ranger

Key responsibilities
•Protect and manage natural areas, wildlife and cultural sites.
•Participate in environmental awareness activities
•Patrolling
•Prevent poaching
•Participate in exhibitions, workshops and team meetings
•Engage local communities in conservation practices
•Collect required data of visitors and prepare summary reports of visits
•Help communities resolve human-wildlife conflicts, and assist with tourism.
•Participate in protection works and inhibit violations of visitors (e.g. cleanliness, getting out of track, smoking), shepherds, hunters, and others
•Collect information on violations and biodiversity by filling in specific forms and taking geographical locations
•Protect threatened and endangered fauna and flora

Requirements for the position
•Fluent in Arabic and English (Oral and written)
•Ability to organize tasks and work on several matters simultaneously
•Good communication skills
•Ability to deal with diverse groups of people
•Ability to drive on roads similar to the reserve’s
