The Alawite Islamic Charity Association (AICA) is seeking Four (4) Sports For Development (S4D) Facilitators to support the implementation of the OCHA-funded CBPF-LHF project in four community centers across North Lebanon and Akkar.
Each center will have one (1) Facilitator responsible for using structured sports activities to promote life skills development and social cohesion to improve the psychosocial well-being and social engagement of the participants through recreational activities.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in sports or recreational activities with children, strong facilitation and communication skills, and a commitment to inclusion, teamwork, and child protection.
Key Responsibilities
Structured Sports Facilitation
Organize 2 S4D sessions per week per class (2 hours/session; 15 children/session).
Implement structured sports curricula to promote leadership, empathy, respect, and inclusion.
Deliver sessions at rented sports facilities in coordination with the Center Coordinator.
Psychosocial Wellbeing & Inclusion
Create safe, inclusive, gender-sensitive, and child-friendly environments.
Proactively include children with minor disabilities and ensures equitable access.
Promote awareness on ethics, personal safety, anti-violence, and positive peer interactions
Child Protection & Safeguarding
Apply AICA’s PSEA, Code of Conduct, and Child Protection policies.
Always ensure physical and emotional safety.
Report any protection concerns to the Center Coordinator and CP Focal Point.
Monitoring & Accountability
Prepare and track S4D Track Sheets/session (by signing attendance, delivering notes, and supporting M&E fields) including attendance, participation, and observation notes.
Collect basic feedback from children and caregivers when relevant.
Share insights and success stories with the MEAL focal point when relevant
Community Engagement & Visibility
Share feedback with caregivers and community stakeholders about sport events.
Eligibility Criteria:
1. Education: Background in sports education, physical education, social development, or a related field..
2. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience facilitating sports or recreational activities for children.
3. Technical Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Basic IT proficiency is preferred.
4. Compliance: Must adhere to AICA’s Safeguarding & GBV Prevention Policies, and OCHA’s AAP Framework.
5. Languages: Fluency in Arabic is required; English or French is a plus.
6. Ethical Standards: Preference for community members from Sahel Akkar, Deir Amar, Mohajreen, and Mina.
Compensation & Contract Details:
Salary: $250 per month (subject to 8.5% Non-Residential Tax deduction as per Lebanese labor law).
Work Schedule: 2 S4D sessions/week per class; 2 hours/session (3 months).
Contract Type: Consultancy-based service provider agreement (no employer-employee relationship).
