Background information on ALEF  L’Association Libanaise pour l’Education et la Formation-ALEF (Lebanese Association for Education and Training) is a human rights, non-governmental organization based in Lebanon. ALEF seeks to strengthen the respect and practice of human rights along all levels of the social, political, and economic structure and to re-instate the fundamental value of every human being as a priority for policy-makers and policy agendas. Embracing a comprehensive approach to monitor, defend, and educate on human rights, ALEF aims to complement and gear all efforts towards the achievement of an influential Human Rights constituency.  Position Summary  The PM is responsible for the management of the organization’s programs in line with ALEF values and the policy guidelines defined by the board  Duties and responsibilities  Contribute to the strategic planning and development of ALEF Contribute to the development strategies for  communication, regional expansion, fundraising, outreach and organizational development Ensure that annual action plans are prepared for all projects in the framework of the overall strategy Ensure that all the projects are implemented in accordance with ALEF values and policy guidelines Together with the relevant staff, identify opportunities for new projects and pursue possible donors Contribute to and ensure that project proposals, concept papers and budgets are drafted and submitted on time Develop and maintain close and good collaboration with donors, partners and other stakeholders Contribute to and supervise the implementation of the monitoring and evaluation framework, Support team members professionally and monitor and support stress management, including regular documented team meetings for planning and reporting purposes. Maintain good inter-team communications, /dynamics, and take suitable action when problems occur. Overall responsibility for management of ALEF offices including the overall financial budgeting and expenditures, staff management, administrative issues, security, logistics and other aspects Ensure appropriate administrative, financial and logistical systems/procedures are maintained and adhered to Responsible for safety and  well-being of all team members Develop and maintain internal financial and progress monitoring and reporting systems Ensure that timely narrative and financial reports are provided to the donors and to the Board   Qualifications   Relevant academic background Demonstrated experience in human rights and good knowledge of the region’s human rights issues A good understanding of human rights at the international level Ability to exercise good political judgment, thorough analysis and diplomacy Good analytical, negotiation, advocacy and communication skills A minimum of three years of experience in civil society work Demonstrated experience in leadership, communication, coordination and  working with a multicultural staff Experience with financial management, administration, human resource development and logistics Demonstrated record in collaborating, networking and negotiating with UN, multiple donors and other NGOs Experience in developing fundraising strategies Knowledge of local laws and regulations Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines in a rapidly changing and sometimes insecure environment Fluency in Arabic & English. Proficiency in French is an asset
