The position of Resource Officer is a full- time position. The Resource Officer assumes a role dealing with a variety of groups and individuals in the school setting and in the community. In this position, a Resource Officer will serve as a facilitator and technical support working in the field with clusters of schools participating in the QITABI-2 project. The Resource Officer will work with school coordinators, teachers, and other school staff to support and coordinate field-based project activities, manage resources and collect data to improve teaching and learning practices as well as school climate. He/she will report to the Lead Resource Officer. The main focus of duty is to support and facilitate the implementation of the project that aims at improving students’ learning performance in primary schools’ grades one to six.
Resource Officer provides an important contribution to the cluster of schools in a variety of capacities. The following areas are major points in service delivery:
- Act as a resource for various project activities, at the school level, to provide support and facilitate the implementation of the program activities;
- Work closely with DOPS mentors and Subject Matter Coordinators to improve quality of teaching and learning;
- Collaborate with the other school staff (principals, teachers, and administrators) to facilitate and communicate project activities which will improve the learning environment to create, at the school level, a community of learners. This includes:
- Arabic and English Literacy or Arabic and French Literacy;
- Math and Numeracy;
- Social Emotional Learning;
- Data collection, data entry and verification;
- Parents’ learning circles and parents’ engagement;
- Logistics, resources and teaching and learning materials (TLMs) distribution.
- Help to create a collaborative environment at the school level;
- Encourage positive change in the school culture;
- Support SMCs and teachers with resources, material, and best practices;
- Act as a mediator to resolve arising conflicts with the objective to facilitate program implementation;
- Carry out regular visits to the primary schools in his/her cluster to support the implementation of the QITABI2;
- Report to the field coordinator all field related activities and issues;
- Compile and draft reports as requested by the project.
Working conditions
A resource officer job requires the candidate to be:
- Present in the field most of the time within school/ learning settings; responsible for 1425 primary public schools in proximate distance within the same governorate;
- Working during the school operating hours with the flexibility of working during holidays when necessary;

- Minimum 4 years working as a teacher in a school setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, Early Childhood & Elementary and/or having a teaching diploma or relevant degree. Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Experience in applying formative assessment, teacher’s appraisal and coaching support;
- Excellent computer skills (outlook, excel, word and PowerPoint)
- Excellent Arabic, and as a second language excellent French or English;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Motorized (has a car) and able to transport easily within one governorate is preferred;
- Assess challenges and ability to troubleshoot and make advised decisions;
- Capacity to implement work plans;
- Capacity to prioritize and good planning skills;
