Mental Health case worker-Ersal

Amel Association is a non-governmental organization established in 1979. Through its 27 centers across Lebanon and its 6 medical Mobile Units, Amel Association provides access to healthcare services and implements development programs targeting underprivileged populations, regardless of their nationality or political and religious affiliations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Effectively assess and support persons in crisis.Fill the intake form for each beneficiary to assess the biopsychosocial needs and refer accordingly if needed. Provide appropriate psycho-social support and MH case management to beneficiaries and their families. Ability to identify and mobilize resources in the beneficiary’s family/community.
  • Coordinate with the multidisciplinary team for the implementation of all MH interventions and activities. 
  • Organize outreach activities within the surrounding communities and provide awareness sessions inside and outside the center.
  • Participate in network/coordination meetings with key actors, NGO’s/INGO’s, local authorities, hospitals etc.
  • Act as the center's focal point for matters related to MH. 
  • Report on mental health and data collection, respecting deadlines.
  • Participate in related training and internal meetings.

  • Understanding of the coordination mechanisms in Lebanon, able to navigate meetings and networking with confidence and competence.
  • Demonstrates ability to adhere to ethical considerations and principles with regard to work with vulnerable populations.
  • High degree of responsibility, initiative, emotional stability, culturally sensitive to those receiving aid.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and internet use.
  • Arabic and English languages are mandatory.

Education

University degree in the field of psychology or social work(medico-social)

Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years work experience in the field of mental health
  • Previous working experience with INGO/NGO in a similar position is required
  • Previous training on MHGAP is preferred
