Pharmacist - El Ain - Baalbek

Under the direct supervision of the health project manager, the pharmacist is responsible for ensuring an efficient management of the pharmacy in the supported health facilities, respecting the medical procedures to supply health care providers and patients with professional advice and information.

 

Main Responsibilities:

support and monitor the pharmacy management

  • Practice interventions within the framework of the internal regulations of Amel and in compliance with the code of ethics of the profession, MOPH and order of pharmacists.
  • Apply the policies, procedures, decisions and recommendation approved by the board and the head of health of health department.
  • In coordination with the PHCC team managers, evaluate the needs of the health facilities in terms of training, supply chain etc…
  • Provide technical support for the best practices management of the pharmacy in terms of storage and tracking of drug waste.
  • Manage the administration of medication for the patients and track stock availability in order to prepare procurement orders.
  • Ensure that appropriate education and drug administration and dosing guidelines are available to guide medical, and nursing stuff.
  • Propose supply recommendation and analyze the quantitative and qualitative needs of medicines on the basis of periodic and annual consumption reports from MOPH recommendations of physicians.
  • Organize the supply of the medical warehouse and ensure control of all regional structures supervisions of the supply of health centers, minimum stock, expiry date, organization of the warehouse by zones, withdrawal of medicines on instructions from the ministry of public health etc.
  • Participate in the follow-up and evaluation of quality standards indicators and MOPH checklist relevant to the pharmacy management.

 

Data collection and reporting

  • Write a report following each PHCC visit and submit it to the head of the health department
  • Ensure the evaluation of new medicines in collaboration with the physicians and the nurses according to the evaluation sheet implemented in the health department.
  • Prepare recommendations for good practices, guidelines and advice on good use and storage.
  • Manage expired medicines and dispose of them safety according to policies and procedures.
  • Analyze weekly and monthly data to detect trends and plan drug order request accordingly.
  • Following the provision of training by MOPH or other international agency, provide continuous follow-up/monitoring to guarantee impact and quality of care to the beneficiaries.

Bachelor degree in pharmacy with permit from MOPH.
Must be registered in the Lebanese order of pharmacists.
Experience with NGO is a plus.
