Psychologist - West Bekaa

ASSIGNMENT The psychologist will be based in West Bekaa area. Hed/She is assigned to a Child Protection project which is part of an Emergency Response in Lebanon. The Psychologist will be assigned to provide expertise on mental health issues to local staff (mainly social workers and animators) and direct psychological support to the beneficiaries (children and parents). He/Shewill work on a part time basis (12 hours /week). TASKS AND DUTIES Task # 1- Identification and referral mechanism - Identify the psychological and medical needs of the beneficiaries and their families - Identify protection concerns (distress, SGBV, domestic violence) and provide psychosocial support to cases of concern - Provide guidance to the teachers, animators and social worker working in the project on common cases and implement with them a protection referral mechanism - Work directly with the social worker to develop intervention plans and follow up at the family level. Task # 2 –Direct Psychological support - Provide adequate psychotherapy and psychological support to the children enrolled in our protection program and to their parents according to the need identified - Keep track of patient numbers/cases - Make necessary and timely referrals when necessary. - Complete intake assessments, evaluations, treatment recommendations, reviews, and other documentation as necessary. Task # 3- Other - Coordinate with local actors and interact with various authorities - Participate in training, internal and inter agency meetings. - Work in team with the social worker and animators.
