Social Worker - Mobile Care Unit

 

Through the provision of medico-psycho-social and legal support to persons currently in Lebanon with limited or no access to such support, the project will develop subsequent network of humanitarian, national and international stakeholders involved in the so called “refugee crisis” in Lebanon for solutions of immediate protection in Lebanon.

 

It will lead to the promotion of adapted practices in terms of identification and inclusion of vulnerable persons within the current humanitarian response in Lebanon, and to direct adapted relief by the operational teams of partnering organizations.

 

 

OBJECTIVES

 

Amel organization, in partnership with Samu Social International, is setting up a structure of mobile assistance in Beirut and its region, reaching out to children and young “in situation of street” and with high vulnerability. The operational partnership between Amel and SSI is key to the project. This first phase is of 8 months.

 

General objective of the project: improved inclusion of refugees and asylum seekers with vulnerabilities in Lebanon from their arrival up to a permanent solution is found, in terms of humanitarian, specialized and legal assistance.

 

 

JOB PURPOSE:

Meet people who are homeless in a social emergency (children / families) in order to offer them a hearing in the form of interviews, advice or adapted guidance.

 

Responsibility n 1st: Establish social links with beneficiaries encountered

- Activity 3.1: Participate in creating an intimate atmosphere with targeted people

- Activity 3.2: Encourage people to accept the proposed help and treatment

- Activity 3.3: Inform the people who you meet about their rights

 

 

Responsibility n 2nd: Ensuring the social assessment of people in vulnerable situations

- Activity 1.1: Identify the most vulnerable cases to address them as a priority

- Activity 1.2: Conduct direct interviews in the street, in our partner’s centers, with the most vulnerable beneficiaries identified

- Activity 1.3: Evaluate cases and report them on technical data sheets

 

Responsibility 3rd: Refer beneficiaries according to their needs

- Activity 2.1: Orientate beneficiaries to the medical or social services they needs, and towards associations that can help them

- Activity 2.2: Participate in the search for care structures to improve helping process

- activity 2.3: Address the situation of the beneficiaries at the regular meetings to provide the team with information about the cases and to project about critical cases
