Illustrator

1. Project Background:

Empowering Communities in Action is a community mobilization project being implemented in five
Palestinian refugee camps (Shatila, Burj El Barajneh, Ein El Helwe, Beddawi, and Nahr El Bared) which
aims to empower women and girls to improve their menstrual health and hygiene practices.

2. Purpose of the consultancy:

Anera is looking for a short-term illustrator to work on illustration for a menstrual health booklet aimed at
supporting Palestinian mothers relay age-appropriate Menstrual Health information to their children
(between the ages of 7 -14).

3. Responsibilities of Consultant:

- To develop illustrations of the 30-40-page booklet based on menstrual health key messages which
are age and context appropriate;
- Up to five revisions;
- Attend meetings as needed;
- Visit Palestinian camps to pilot illustrations as needed;

4. Planned timelines:

Start Date: September 5 th , 2022
End Date: October 21 st , 2022

5. Specific requirements:

Qualifications Required:
- University degree in Illustration and / or Graphic design
- Preferred experience developing illustrations for children
- Knowledge of Palestinian context preferred

Language requirements:
Arabic: Fluent (Read- Write- Speak)
English: Fluent (Read- Write- Speak)

6. Travel:

If field visits are required to camps, transportation will be covered by the project.
