Community Engagement Officer (Prospective)

KEY RESPONSABILITIES, TASKS AND ACTIVITIES

  • Lead   community   mapping   and   assessment,   including   identification   of   partner   CBOs, recruitment of volunteers,
  • Lead the implementation of baseline and follow up KAP studies,
  • Assist in the development, promotion, execution and appraisal of community’s SWM awareness campaign / material;
  • Work with community groups to assist the public in understanding SWM and meeting WASH needs;
  • Conducts awareness sessions with  target  groups on SWM with a focus on sorting at the source
  • Identify community resources and target groups for the SWM project in Bekaa;
  • Work  with  other  program  staff  in  planning,  developing,  implementing,  and  evaluating specific programs or projects;
  • Advise  and  assists  community  groups  with  the  implementation  of  community  health promotion and education programs;
  • Assists in conducting evaluation studies and preparing written reports on assigned programs;
  • Maintain proper and updated reports on capacity building and awareness activities;
  • Provides responsive, high quality deliverables by providing accurate, complete and up-to-date information, in an efficient and timely manner;
  • Communicate  effectively  with  a  variety  of  stakeholders  representing  diverse  cultures  and backgrounds;
  • Manage the recruited volunteers;
  • Assist in writing humanitarian stories depicting project achievements;
  • Other relevant tasks as needed.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

• A Bachelor degree in Public Health, Health Promotion & Community Health, Environmental sciences/Management, Social studies, Psychology, or Communication or any related field

Masters degree is a plus

 

Experience

•         Sound data analysis and reporting skills

•         Excellent command of written and spoken English and Arabic.

•         Excellent skills in common software packages (MS Excel, MS Word, Power Point etc…).

 

Desirable

  • Good command of SPSS
  • Good command of KOBO
  • Driving skills/ license

 

 

 EXPERIENCE

  2-3 years of experience in working in NGOs in promotion of best practices in solid waste management, and/or community health promotion.
