Job Title: Employability Preparedness Consultant

Summary:
The Employability Preparedness Consultant will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering employability preparedness activities to support youth in their career development and job search efforts. In this role, the consultant will facilitate employability skills training, create curriculum materials, train trainers, and provide comprehensive reports on training sessions. The primary focus will be on enhancing the life skills and employability of Competency-Based Training (CBT) students through impactful and engaging sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Delivery and Facilitation:
- Present and deliver curriculum and materials on employability skills, positive leadership, and career guidance.
- Conduct interactive training sessions that effectively enhance CBT students' life skills and career readiness.
- Adapt training content as needed to address the diverse needs of youth participants.
Trainer Support and Development:
- Conduct Training of Trainers (TOT) sessions for Life Skills trainers across all areas of implementation.
- Provide ongoing mentorship and support to trainers, ensuring the successful delivery of employability content.
- Facilitate individual coaching sessions with trainers to assess their skills, offer feedback, and strengthen their facilitation techniques.
Career Counseling and Guidance:
- Provide career counseling and guidance to youth through one-on-one and group sessions.
- Assist youth in developing personalized career plans based on their interests, skills, and goals.
- Support trainers in offering career coaching to students effectively.
Job Search and Application Support:
- Deliver practical support to Life Skills trainers on resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
- Conduct mock interviews, provide constructive feedback, and offer techniques to build confidence.
- Stay informed about labor market trends to ensure relevant career development advice.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track and report on training sessions, including attendance, participant progress, and challenges.
- Provide actionable recommendations to improve training effectiveness and participant outcomes.
- Document lessons learned and best practices to enhance future training programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Career Counseling, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in career development, human resources, or training and facilitation.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering employability training programs.
- Strong understanding of resume writing, interview techniques, and job search strategies.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience working with youth, particularly in vulnerable or disadvantaged settings, is preferred.
Additional Information:
- This position requires occasional travel to support program implementation across different locations.
