Field Assistant

Project Background

The project seeks to tackle the acute water scarcity and deteriorating infrastructure in four vulnerable villages in Akkar, Lebanon. These communities, which host both residents and displaced populations, face unreliable water access caused by limited well capacity, outdated pumps, and inadequate solar systems.

Schools and collective shelters are particularly affected, often depending on costly water trucking and bottled water. To address these challenges, the project will install reverse osmosis (RO) systems for drinking water, filtration systems for general use, additional storage tanks, and implement technical repairs with solar power upgrades.

These interventions will ensure a reliable and sustainable supply of clean water, strengthening health, hygiene, and community resilience. By integrating solar solutions and engaging municipalities in management, the project will also enhance cost efficiency and long-term sustainability.
