Position Summary:
As ANERA is implementing a project under the funding from UNICEF and requires a consultancy services for the purpose of its project Quick Impact Skills Development for Adolescents and Youth Affected by the Syrian Refugee Crisis II. The LSFC will promote the concept of life skills development among the local community and will develop, follow up and monitor specific life skills training and activities implemented through local partners
Responsibilities of Life Skills Field Coordinator:
- Mapping of available youth clubs, and other youth led or youth service providers in the targeted areas.
- Assess needs, develop and implement a curriculum and associated activities for life skills education
- Recruitment/reach out to beneficiaries from the Syrian refugees and host communities to ensure wide and fair participation in program activities.
- Assist in the organization, logistics and preparations of life skills trainings, and other planned events in the targeted areas
- Promote life skills development among relevant community stakeholders, including youth, local authorities
- Act as a focal point for partners, as well as other relevant stakeholders and municipalities.
- Monitor and provide feedback on the implementation of the life skills education component, the quality of partners’ life skills training and associated activities.
- Maintain proper and updated monitoring of all field activities with proper documentation of such monitoring activities including list of participants, attendance, questionnaires, pre and posttests, focus group discussions… etc.
- Submit weekly reports on development of activities, results, challenges and achievements of project as per templates
- Perform other tasks, as requested by the Program Manager or Country Director
Required Qualifications and Skills
This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment.
- 3+ years relevant experience preferably on youth and life skills projects.
- BA or TS degree in the fields of social science or any other related filed- or equivalent in work experience.
- Familiarity with the area of operation
- Proven experience and contacts within the local, national and/or international non-profit community
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic working environment juggling multiple tasks
- Demonstrates program administration experience
- Dynamic and pro-active with creative problem solving skills, particularly in challenging situations
- Good interpersonal and networking skills
- Works collaboratively with colleagues to achieve organizational goal
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability
- Flexible mobility within the area of operation (Car and driver license is a plus)
- Computer literate with focus on Microsoft office
- Strong organizational skills and attention to details
Languages:
- For this post, fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic is required.
Work Conditions: This position is a field based position.
