About Nahno Volunteers (Lebanon)
Nahno Volunteers is Lebanon’s national youth engagement platform that connects adolescents and youth with meaningful volunteering and skills-building opportunities posted by public institutions, NGOs, companies, and community groups. In Lebanon, the platform is co-managed by Anera and Live Love Lebanon, in collaboration with UNICEF and MoSA, to ensure inclusive access for all youth—especially the most vulnerable—while documenting service hours, building competencies, and strengthening civic participation.
Job Summary
The project manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the project’s success and impact. They lead Nahno—Lebanon’s national youth volunteering movement— to deliver measurable impact, promote safe and meaningful volunteerism, and strengthen local partners, in alignment with the National Youth Strategy, MoSA frameworks, and UNICEF’s country program priorities. The PM sets direction and drives results, ensuring compliance with safeguarding and donor standards, and positioning the program for growth (new phases and funding).
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee every facet of the project to guarantee its timely, precise, high-quality, and compliant implementation.
- Ensure smooth coordination between all concerned counterparts (UNICEF, Ministries, volunteers etc)
- Lead the project’s management committee and contribute to all coordination fora.
- Act as the main point of contact with the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA)
- Lead all communications with the donor, ensuring their continued involvement in both strategic matters and day-to-day operations as needed.
- Articulate the project’s vision clearly, internally and externally, and mobilize all stakeholders around it.
- Review, in coordination with the management committee and endorsement of the steering committee, the project strategy every quarter to ensure it remains fit-for-purpose based on the most recent data and adapt the project's work plan accordingly.
- Lead on the preparation of monthly progress meetings and mobilize all relevant Anera departments to achieve the project’s objectives.
- Map private sector entities and engage them to contribute to the implementation of the Nahno incentives plan.
- Review and finalize all narrative reports.
- Review and finalize reference technical documents applicable to the project.
- Lead budget management and collaborate with Finance and Compliance on any project amendments and budget revisions as needed.
- Promote the Nahno Volunteer Platform in workshops, meetings, online, and wherever applicable.
- Work with the team to ensure all partners, including key implementing partners, are supported and equipped to deliver on their commitments.
- Directly oversee the work of three (3) team members (Senior Officer - Partnerships, Platform Manager, and Officer - Youth Engagement) and one (1) consultant (Master Trainer), and manage their performance.
Qualifications & Skills
- A bachelor's or master's degree is preferred in Development Studies, International Affairs, Political Studies, Sociology, or any other relevant field.
- A minimum of six (6) years of experience in the international aid sector, with a minimum of two years of experience managing projects and teams
- Demonstrated experience in successfully engaging and working with official authorities, including ministries
- Experience in youth programming—experience in volunteerism is a plus
- A proven track record in working with partners, and a demonstrated understanding of localization principles
Working Conditions
- The position is office-based in Beirut with regular visits to partners, community events, and volunteer-led activities.
- Requires flexibility to adapt to program schedules, including occasional evenings or weekends during events.
