Position: Project Manager-Solid Waste Management
Work Station: Beirut with frequent field visits to North Lebanon
Reports to: Country Director
Position Summary:
This is a call for applications for a solid waste management project that would serve as a targeted response to the urgent problem of the waste crisis and the potential health threats that face communities throughout Lebanon. The Project Manager (PM) will oversee the project to ensure the desired results are achieved, the most efficient resources are used and the different interests involved are satisfied. He/she will supervise the day-to-day activities and will devise M&E tools and methods to measure project achievements.

Responsibilities
The Project Manager will be responsible for carrying out the following:
Review situational analysis and assessment of the capacities of solid waste management structures as well as community behavior and practices in the targeted areas.
Plan project activities and ensure proper implementation by staff, volunteers, partners, and stakeholders,
Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
Supervise the day to day implementation of activities of the intervention,
Ensure proper organization, logistics and preparations of trainings, community events and awareness campaigns, emphasizing key hygiene promotion messages;
Maintain proper and updated monitoring of all field activities with proper documentation;
Liaise with partners, as well as other relevant stakeholders and Municipalities;
Ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured
Submit regular reports on development of activities, results, challenges and achievements of project;
Manage project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures
Write reports on the project for management and for funders
Perform other tasks as the need arises.
Requirements and Qualifications
A higher degree in the field of Environmental Health, Public Health, Social Science, Business Administration or any other related field- or equivalent in work experience
Five Years of experience in environmental health or WASH projects
Three to Five years of managerial experience in the field of humanitarian and development work.
Skills
Sound understanding and experience of project planning, monitoring and evaluation
Good computer skills with good command of commonly used software (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, email etc…)
Strong oral and written communications skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to-detail.
Demonstrated program administration experience
Dynamic and pro-active with creative problem solving skills, particularly in challenging situations
Good interpersonal and networking skills
Familiarity with the area of operation (North Lebanon/Akkar)
Flexible mobility to and from North Lebanon/Akkar area (including Palestinian Camps)
Works collaboratively with colleagues to achieve organizational goal
Cultural sensitivity and adaptability
