Project Officer

Position Overview:


Under the direct supervision of the Education Program Manager at the Beirut Office, the Project Officer will play a key role in tracking, coordinating, and supporting the implementation of project activities related to CBT (Competency-Based Training), Cash for Work, employment, and business start-up initiatives. The incumbent will also liaise with field teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project plans, monitor progress, and contribute to achieving program objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Project Tracking and Implementation:
  • Ensure accurate tracking of CBT, Cash for Work, employment, and business start-up activities, including outreach, participant selection, and training implementation, aligning with approved project plans.
  • Support the development of business start-up components, including curriculum design, mentorship programs, and post-training support for entrepreneurs.

Programmatic and Operational Support:

  • Provide programmatic support by organizing induction meetings with partners and consultants and preparing relevant tools such as forms, training placement guides, and progress reports.
  • Assist in developing templates and resources to support business start-up participants, such as business planning frameworks and funding application guidelines.
  • Coordination with Grants and MEAL Teams:
  • Collaborate with the grants team to monitor partner agreements and ensure program activities are executed according to contractual obligations.
  • Work with the MEAL department to collect, analyze, and report on key performance indicators, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness.

Capacity Building and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Provide support and capacity-building sessions for partner staff and team members, focusing on technical, administrative, and programmatic areas, including business start-up training and financial literacy.
  • Coordinate with technical focal points and field staff to address challenges and implement corrective actions.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Draft presentations, reports, and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to develop success stories, case studies, and promotional materials highlighting the impact of project activities, including business start-up success stories.

General Administration and Collaboration:

  • Attend regular meetings, provide status updates, and ensure effective coordination with senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Education Program Manager, contributing to the overall success of the program.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, International Development, or a related field.
  • Proven 3 years of experience in project management, particularly in employment, livelihoods, and business start-up programs.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in engaging diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other project management tools.
  • Experience in tracking progress and reporting on program activities.
  • Knowledge of business start-up frameworks, financial literacy, or entrepreneurship training is a strong asset.
