Position: Sports/Youth Coordinator Work Station: Akkar-North Lebanon Reports to: Youth Program Manager Position Summary: In response to the ongoing crisis, ANERA is launching a non-formal education and youth development project funded by UNICEF denominated as “Quick Impact Skills Development for adolescents affected by Syrian refugee crisis”. The Youth Coordinators will support the project partners (mainly sports clubs) in their respective area of operations in ensuring the achievement of desired objectives and results. He/she will follow up on the day-to-day activities of the project and support data collection efforts at the field implementation level based on tools and methods set by ANERA program managers.  About ANERA: American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA) advances the well-being of people in the West Bank, Gaza, Lebanon and Jordan. Through partnerships and close consultation with local groups and communities, ANERA responds to economic, health and educational needs with sustainable solutions and also delivers humanitarian aid during emergencies.   Responsibilities The Sports field coordinator will be responsible for carrying out the following: Mapping of available youth clubs, scout teams and other youth led or youth service providers in the targeted areas Recruitment/reach out to beneficiaries from the Syrian refugees and host communities to ensure wide and fair participation in program activities Conduct need assessments for sports clubs prior to setting the capacity building program that targets both; youth and host communities Assist in the organization, logistics and preparations of trainings, tournaments and other planned events in the targeted villages Support ANERA Public Health Team in the planning and organization of Thematic Tournaments and Open Health Days Maintain proper and updated monitoring of all field activities with proper documentation of such monitoring activities including list of participants, attendance, questionnaires, pre and post tests Act as focal point for partners and all partner NGOs, as well as other relevant stakeholders and Municipalities; Manage and Coordinate local and field visits for project manager or any concerned parties; Submit monthly reports on development of activities, results, challenges and achievements of project as per templates Perform other tasks as the need arises Requirements and Qualifications BA or TS degree in the field of social science, Business Administration or any other related field- or equivalent in work experience Three to five (3-5) years of related experience - Preferably on youth projects and sports. Previous experience with Local or International NGO’s will be an advantage Skills Demonstrated program administration experience Dynamic and pro-active with creative problem solving skills, particularly in challenging situations Good interpersonal and networking skills Works collaboratively with colleagues to achieve organizational goal Strong oral and written communications skills Cultural sensitivity and adaptability Familiarity with the area of operation (Akkar) Flexible mobility within Akkar area Computer literate with focus on Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel. Strong organizational skills and attention to-detail. Languages For this post, fluency in written and spoken Arabic is required and a good command of working English is preferable.
