Content Development Experts For Extracurricular Activities At Public Schools

Project Description: Developing Assistance to Schools and Teacher Improvement II (D-RASATI II) is a project that aims at enhancing student achievement in Lebanese public schools by training English teachers, developing extracurricular activities, providing schools with ICT equipment and training, developing school leadership and building the capacity and tools necessary to support school improvement planning. D-RASATI II is a 2-year project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).   Consultancy Description: As part of the D-RASATI II project, AMIDEAST is responsible for working closely with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to develop a national strategy for extracurricular activities (ECA), build the capacity of public schools to organize extracurricular learning opportunities for students based on the strategy, and develop modules of extracurricular learning activities for teachers to use with students at the intermediate and secondary levels. AMIDEAST is looking to hire education experts to develop modules for extracurricular learning programs in the areas of: ‒     Languages and Cultures ‒     Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics ‒     Active Citizenship and Community Service ‒     Environment, Agriculture and Health ‒     Economics, Business and Entrepreneurship ‒     Career and Life Skills ‒     Fine Arts, Performing Arts and Music   Specific Consultancy Details: AMIDEAST is seeking education experts with experience in extracurricular activities and one or more of the aforementioned subject areas for a short-term consultancy to work with the ECA component manager to perform the following: Develop extracurricular learning programs, modules and activities in multidisciplinary areas to be used be teachers with students at the intermediate and secondary school levels. The extracurricular programs, modules and activities are: Multidisciplinary and project-based in nature Based on active learning and focus on building knowledge, mastering skills and cultivating attitudes Structured yet ensure flexibility, are fun and include processes to enhance learner voice Resources that can be easily implemented by teachers Coordinate closely with the Extracurricular Activities manager and other team members   Qualifications: At least a BA degree with at least 15 years of relevant experience or an MA with at least 5 years of relevant experience or a PhD in Education and/or Active Citizenship, Sciences, Arts, Languages, Business, Sciences and Mathematics Knowledge of the national Lebanese curriculum Experience in developing learning and teaching materials and resources Experience in teaching and/or organizing and implementing extracurricular activities for intermediate and secondary school students Experience in working with Lebanese public schools and knowledge of the public education system Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Fluency in Arabic and English is required; fluency in French is preferred Excellent computer literacy Lebanese citizenship Available to begin consultancy work immediately
