Educational Program Officer-Access

Position Description The Educational Program Officer would be part of the State English Access Microscholarship program team responsible for ensuring AMIDEAST’s successful implementation of the Access program, which is currently serving almost 1,200 scholarship recipients in 58 towns. The Educational Program Officer will be handling administrative and education-related tasks, which include:  Administrative Responsibilities: Assist with the development of project proposal; update annual schedule and plan; and monitor progress to ensure all deliverables are met in a timely manner Participate in screening, interviewing, orienting teachers to the program, and monitoring teaching schedules and number of teaching hours to ensure all classes are on track Review and edit databases, evaluations, and other program documents to ensure accuracy and completeness, including teachers’ schedules, students’ grade sheets, and the class enrollment list Identify, organize, and attend extra-curricular activities and events for the students Coordinate with teachers, vendors, and all related stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of Access events   Education-related Responsibilities: Provide guidance to teachers on classroom management and grading; initiate and implement teacher training; and visit the classes to provide educational consulting for the teachers and to conduct classroom evaluation, teaching evaluation, and student evaluations Monitor the implementation of prepared curriculum for all English levels and specialized American cultural awareness modules including course syllabi, course schedules, and teaching guidelines Tabulate grade sheets; monitor student attendance, grades, and progress on a monthly basis; follow up with students who want to drop out of the program and resolving conflicts; and provide data on student progress for the quarterly reports   Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in English Language or English Literature; Master’s degree preferred 4-6 years of experience in an administrative or coordination role in Education Experience supervising teachers Experience in teaching English at secondary school level preferable Demonstrated skills and experience in project management  Demonstrated skills and experience in planning and organizing logistics for events and workshops Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, and communication skills High attention to detail Ability to multitask Excellent computer skills including MS Office; high proficiency in Excel is required Willingness to travel extensively to class sites all over Lebanon Lebanese citizenship Fluency in English required; fluency in Arabic preferred Availability to start work immediately or within 2-4 weeks
