Program Associate

AMIDEAST has a vacancy for a Program Associate to work full-time for 1.5 months on a short-term project.   Project Description: AMIDEAST is developing for the Middle East Bureau and the USAID Lebanon Mission profiles of scholars who have received USAID-supported scholarships as part of the University Scholarship Program (USP).  This project will build a library of “stories” about who USP scholars are, what they are doing today, how they got there, and how USP has contributed to their success.  The scholar profiles and stories will be used for outreach and publication to show case the scholars’ successes.  The profiles should be effective, impactful, and inspirational. Position Description: The Program Associate will work and support the team of consultants to ensure the effective implementation of the project activities. Specific responsibilities that the program associate will be responsible for include, but are not limited to: Compiling data and performing verification when needed Organizing task logistics for workshops and activities Following up with scholars (survey, workshop, photos, etc.) Supporting Team Leader on all other task activities Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Communication Arts, Journalism, English Language, Education, Social Sciences, or other relevant field required Demonstrated skills and experience handling planning, organizing, and logistics for events, workshops, and/or campaigns Experience in writing English journalistic pieces is a plus Experience in managing social media platforms is a plus  Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management and communication skills Excellent computer skills (MS Office, internet research, etc.) Ability to multi-task with high attention to details Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision Fluency in English and Arabic required Lebanese citizen Available to start work immediately Resumes and cover letters should be sent with “USP Profiles Program Associate” in the subject line.
