Education Field Officer - Bekaa

Job purpose   The Education Field Officer serves as part of the organization’s leadership team, providing job-imbedded and ongoing support leading to professional development for teachers, teachers’ assistants and other teaching staff. . He/she is responsible of the ongoing implementation of inside and outside the school programs. He/she provides guidance for teachers to improve their content knowledge and instructional strategies.  Overall, the job of the Education Field Officer is to facilitate the program implementation, to meet the learning needs of all students and support teacher development. The Education Field Officer’s goal is to: Improve instructional practices at the classroom level. Improve student achievement.   Ensure documenting all evidence of implementation and use of resources. communicate, through reporting, successes and challenges   Duties and responsibilities   The duties and responsibilities of the Education Field Officer include: Participate in all required Education Field Officer professional development/training:  The Education Field Officer is in charge of acquiring the knowledge, skills, and instructional strategies necessary to effectively impact the instructional practices of the teachers that are coached.    He/she must update their knowledge about current and past research in education and other pedagogies relevant to the Education Field Officering role.         2. Facilitate the development of high quality of teaching by: Working with teachers (in teams or individually) to improve their knowledge and skills.  Training, in-class coaching, observing and modeling of instructional strategies. Mentoring teachers while assessing student work. Developing lesson plans with teachers based on assessment. Supporting data analysis.          3. Education Field Officering instructional effectiveness and student progress through: Assessment and evaluation tools. Observing, documenting and submitting reports.         4. Identify barriers and weaknesses by: Collecting and analyzing teacher and student data. Organizing and implementing problem-solving actions with stakeholders          5. Building and maintaining confidential and respective relationships with teachers, students and other staff members: Keeping the conversations and interactions that the Education Field Officer has with teachers, teachers’ assistant and field officers confidential so that a high level of trust is created and maintained. Sharing information and reports only with staff members; specifically project coordinators/managers and trainers. Giving constructive and objective feedback to ensure professional development. Documenting all visits in writing to be submitted regularly to the project coordinator/manager.       Tasks to be performed:   Contact the School Principal /Director according to the list provided by the coordinator/manager and document response. Collect the list of participating teachers according to the criteria shared by coordinator/manager. Outreach learners (following outreach criteria). Register & assess learners (hard copy & on CRM) Sign, collect and submit all needed contracts provided by the coordinator/manager before operation starts (Teachers, TA and other teaching staff, janitors and guards). Set up, attend and compile data on teachers training sessions. Share operation schedule with each site staff according to the program specified by the coordinator / manager. Contact & inform parents about launching of the program, parents’ awareness sessions and other occasions taking place on site (through either a bulk sms or phone call or sending written notes) Conduct parents’ awareness sessions and report on them supported with evidence Sign, collect and submit all delivery notes throughout the projects (books, class room stationary, materials, bakery, drivers’ invoices, etc..) Collect, compile and submit attendance sheets for both learners and teachers and other teaching staff from each site according to the time frame agreed upon by coordinator/ manager. Track & share inventories to measure efficiency of the project Track & share teachers and learner’s performance to measure effectiveness of the project Send monthly time sheets on time to HR Share weekly reports with the designated managers. Update the CRM with all compiled data accordingly. Report on the project closure with all needed documents. Share the weekly plan & tasks specifications with the designated  manager.    Qualifications &Skills   BA in education (preferred elementary / early childhood education) or related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in the education field. Personality: Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook  Reporting skills & writing Decision Making. Time Management Interpersonal, problem solving, and organizational skills required to effectively facilitate Education Field Officering/coaching and staff development. Ability to prepare and conduct needed quality training for teachers/school staff. Knowledge of equity issues in current education reform. Dealing with Complexity                                Working conditions   An Education Field Officering job requires the candidate to be: present in the office and the field as required according to work plans (approved and managed by coordinator/manager). Working during week days with the flexibility of working during weekends. Working in multi-cultural settings, with in school and out of school children. Interacting with novice and experienced teachers, teachers’ assistants and other colleagues. Working on other projects assigned by Ana Aqra Management when need be. Attending all the trainings required to improve the work performance. To be knowledgeable of her/his implementation and provide needed data promptly.   Responsibilities within the Internal Control System Ana Aqra Association's Internal Control Systems (ICS) encompass a set of rules, policies, and procedures that the organization implements to provide reasonable assurance that: Its financial reports are reliable, Its operations are effective and efficient. Its activities comply with applicable laws and regulations. The organization's board of directors, management, and other personnel are responsible for the internal control system. Thus, an Education Field Officer is responsible for the ICS and non-compliance will result in direct dismissal.   Confidentiality All documents are confidential and should not be shared with any person without the consent of the Project Coordinator. Information requests from outsiders are forwarded to the Project Coordinator. The Education Field Officer shall assist grantors' visitation when they are visiting the schools. At that time, the Education Field Officer shall answer questions, share information, show documents etc. to facilitate the visit. Representation of Ana Aqra The Employee may not under any circumstances represent Ana Aqra in the Media without prior approval from the designated authorized persons after receiving proper guidance. Any abuse or false representation will result in a direct dismissal.   Further Conditions The Education Field Officer is not allowed to work for other institutions, NGOs or any other agency while hired by Ana Aqra Association, whether as a full timer or a consultant, as conflict of interest may arise. A one-month notice of leave or termination of his/her job should be granted, regardless who requesting discontinuation of the employment .
