Finance Officer

Ana Aqra Association has a vacancy for a Finance Officer for the USAID-funded “Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement - (QITABI)” in Lebanon. This position is for a Lebanese national.  Job Purpose The Finance officer is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of financial records for Ana Aqra Association. He/ she provides financial support to the financial manager and Program director through bookkeeping, payroll, banking and reporting activities. Duties & Responsibilities Assist with preparation of the budget; Reconcile all accounts monthly and prepare financial statements, including financial position, revenue, expenditure tracking, performance to budget, and cash flow; Establish and maintain cash controls and the general ledger; Reconcile banks, control and other accounts; Prepare income statements ad balance sheet; Prepare monthly financial statements; Prepares and enters journal entries and adjustments into the accounting system; Prepare quarterly reports; Enter all income and expenditure transactions into the accounting system; Process supplier’s invoices; Process petty cash reconciliations as required; Administer employee’s files in order to ensure accurate payment, through documenting new employees, establishing employee files in the computerized accounting system, maintaining the leave management system and verifying annual leave records; Process salaries and maintain required records; Liaise and assist external auditor in respect of annual financial statements and related matters; Control and analyse budget coordinating with program director and finance manager, Prepare amendments to budgets and all justifications required in coordination with the project manager & the financial manager; Update the program director and the financial manager of the financial burden if any, on the association; Carry out general clerical and administrative duties to support the role; Carry out other duties commensurate with the position, as may be determined by the department head. Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance; 3 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience (including proven experience as a finance officer); Experience using Navision and/ or Quickbooks software; Very good command of Excel; Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures; Experience in creating financial statements; Working knowledge of reporting requirements for donors, preferred; Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills; Well-developed written and oral communication skills; Time management & the ability to work in a team environment. Fluent in Arabic & English.
