Functional Consultant for Online Ana Aqra Platform

Job purpose

The Project Functional Consultant will be responsible for clarifying and defining the functionality of the upcoming Arabic and English Ana Aqra online platform, its content, its financial model and define the process in which it will be updated and managed.

Duties and responsibilities

The Project Functional Consultant’s duties and responsibilities include the following:

Platform Functional Specifications Definition – Phase 1

Perform high-level research and benchmarking of competitor websites to understand what is offered on the market and what potential users of the platform would benefit from; building on preliminary research done.

Organize workshops with Ana Aqra teams to clarify the main purpose, functionality and videos that will be proposed on the website, including defining the categories of target users, the types of content and the financial model.

Organize workshops with Ana Aqra teams to clarify the main processes/roles/responsibilities for the platform’s content development, creation/uploading/review of videos, customer interaction and marketing.

Deliver a thorough Functional Specifications document that explains all of the above.

Coordination of Education Content/Video Creation for the Platform Pilot – Phase 2

Review and become acquainted with Ana Aqra’s education Products and Services with the support of the Education & Training Team as well as the Marketing & Business Development Manager.

Coordinate with the Ana Aqra teams and external vendors on the different categories and formats of content that will be created and manage their approval and uploading.

Organize user experience focus groups to ensure the usability and relevance of the functionality to different categories of users.

Oversee the development and uploading of the first pilot videos to confirm the different video formats (to be done in parallel to the Functional Specifications document)

Coordination of Education Content/Video Creation – Phase 3

Hand over all deliverables to the “Online Platform Administrator” during a 2-week period

* The Massive Online Open Courses (MOOC) platform Ana Aqra is using is called EDX (https://www.edx.org). The open source capability via Open EDX (https://open.edx.org) is being used to localize the Platform into Arabic.

Qualifications

Previous experience in functional specifications as well as project management;

University Degree in Computer Science, Marketing, Business Administration, or related;

Strong command of formal Arabic and English;

Proven skills in critical thinking, assessment and analysis;

Initiative taking, autonomy and drive to implement a project;

Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships;

Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to execute projects on time and on budget;

Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
