Graphic Designer

Duties and responsibilities

• Meet with Ana Aqra’s concerned team(s) to determine the scope of a project.
• Use digital illustration, photo editing software, and layout software to create designs.
• Create visual elements such as logos, original images, and illustrations to help deliver a message.
• Design layouts, including selection of colors, images, and typefaces.
• Incorporate changes recommended by the Education, Programs teams into final designs.
• Deliver creative and innovative ideas to design and support in the production of electronic and animated presentations.
• Improve and edit vectors, images, and layout of artwork, photos, charts and other graphic elements.
• Review designs for errors before printing or publishing them.
• Select the type, font, size, color, and line length of headlines, headings, and text.
• Decide how images and text will go together in print, video clips, or on a webpage, including how much space each will have.
• Transform - through the use of images, text, and color - data into visual graphics and diagrams to make complex ideas more accessible.
• Will work remotely or face to face to finalize the needed production
• Will receive the instructions and content guidelines from Ana Aqra Education and Programs teams.
• Might be asked to repeat and edit the materials as the Education, Programs teams and production team see required.
• Work directly with team and individually to complete tasks.
• Perform other tasks as requested.

Qualifications and Requirements

Academic & Professional

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field.
• Strong professional skills in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and other graphic design software. Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects is a Plus.

Experience

• Four (4+) years’ experience in animation or design role, preferably with non-profit organizations
• Proven experience of graphic production from start to published/printed product with knowledge of printing processes (offset and digital) and color management.
• Knowledge and experience in Education content is a must.
