The IT administrator maintains computer systems, information systems and networks, upgrades and installs new hardware and software, provides support, and performs troubleshooting to resolve IT issues.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain computer networks and systems.
- Create user accounts and allocate access control as per IT policy.
- Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshooting protocols to optimize computer systems.
- Manage the inventory of ICT-related equipment.
- Provide IT support to staff and help resolve IT-related issues in a timely manner.
- Upgrade, install, and configure new hardware and software as required.
- Follow up on security protocols and procedures to prevent potential threats.
- Document processes and provide reports as needed.
- Back up, restore, and archive data in accordance with IT policies.
Educational Requirements & Competencies
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer networking and hardware or any IT related field or similar experience.
- Min 3 years of experience as an IT officer/administrator.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux servers.
- Ability to think logically and prioritize the workload.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Strong communications skills.
