IT Administrator

The IT administrator maintains computer systems, information systems and networks, upgrades and installs new hardware and software, provides support, and performs troubleshooting to resolve IT issues.

Main Duties and Responsibilities           

  • Install, configure, and maintain computer networks and systems.
  • Create user accounts and allocate access control as per IT policy.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshooting protocols to optimize computer systems.
  • Manage the inventory of ICT-related equipment.
  • Provide IT support to staff and help resolve IT-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Upgrade, install, and configure new hardware and software as required.
  • Follow up on security protocols and procedures to prevent potential threats.
  • Document processes and provide reports as needed.
  • Back up, restore, and archive data in accordance with IT policies.

 

Educational Requirements & Competencies

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer networking and hardware or any IT related field or similar experience.
  • Min 3 years of experience as an IT officer/administrator.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux servers.
  • Ability to think logically and prioritize the workload.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Strong communications skills.
