  Job Category: Office based Job Code/ Ref #:   Job title Marketing and Business Development Officer (MBDO) Reports to Executive Director  Job purpose The Marketing and Business Development Officer is in charge of developing and implementing the marketing and business plans for the achievement of the revenue goals of Ana Aqra. The MBDO is responsible for understanding the education products and services of the association in order to work on their commercialization. The activities of the MBDO are around assessing, planning, promoting, designing, campaigning, coordinating, proposal writing and winning projects to grow Ana Aqra’s impact and improve its financial sustainability.  Duties and responsibilities  The Marketing and Business Development Officer’s duties and responsibilities include the following: Product & Services Review and become acquainted with Ana Aqra’s education products and Services with the support of the Education and Training Team Design and package the Education Products and Services, with the support of the Education Specialist, for the purpose of selling Evaluate and contribute towards improved product development to match market needs  Marketing & Communications Develop and implement a Marketing Plan for Ana Aqra’s products and services Promote Ana Aqra as a service provider (with the support of the Communication Development Officer)  Business Development Assess the Education Market locally, regionally and internationally to identify opportunities to commercialize Ana Aqra’s products and services Develop, maintain and update on an annual basis a Business Development Plan with income targets (with the support of the Finance Manager and Executive Director) Identify, cultivate and grow a pipeline of commercialization leads that serves as the basis for developing the income targets of the Business Development Plan Develop proposals, pitch and secure project wins to meet the income targets of the Business Development Plan Qualifications Previous experience in marketing and sales preferably in the education sector; University Degree in Education, Marketing, Business Administration, or related; Master’s Degree (desirable); Excellent use of computer with command on MS Excel among other packages of MS Office; knowledge of CRM (desirable); Proven skills in critical thinking, assessment and analysis; Demonstrated ability in report writing and presentation; Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships; Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to execute projects on time and on budget; Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Responsibilities within the Internal Control System Ana Aqra Association's Internal Control Systems (ICS) encompass a set of rules, policies, and procedures that the organization implements to provide reasonable assurance that: Its financial reports are reliable, Its operations are effective and efficient. Its activities comply with applicable laws and regulations. The organization's board of directors, management, and other personnel are responsible for the internal control system. Thus, the Marketing and Business Development Officer is responsible to respect the guidelines of the association’s ICS and non-compliance will result in direct dismissal. Confidentiality All documents are confidential and should not be shared with any person without the consent of the Program Director or Executive Director. Further Conditions The Marketing and Business Development Officer is not allowed to work for another institution, NGO or any other agency while hired by Ana Aqra Association. A one month notice of leave or termination of his/her job should be granted, regardless of who is requesting discontinuation of the employment.
