MEAL Assistant

Job purpose

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) Assistant will support the monitoring, evaluation, research, analysis of results and reporting of activities in accordance with the Ana Aqra Association policy and project requirements. 

Duties and responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the MERL assistant include, but are not limited to:

• Collect, track and assess relevant data on a regular basis,
• Provide day-to-day data quality verification and ensure all data is properly shared and documented,
• Maintain clear filing system and database,
• Assist in the development of M&E tools and forms to collect data from the field,
• Support research (desk and/or field) and study activities on M&E related issues,
• Conduct regular field visits to oversee routine program monitoring activities to support and/ or supervise data collection or verify data quality.
• Participate in annual project reviews and planning workshops and assist in preparing relevant reports,
• Assist the Program Manager in preparing project-relevant reports including reports on findings and lessons learned, on weekly basis and upon request from the project team,
• Establish and maintain regular communication with the field team to ensure that tasks are completed on time and to the required standards,
• Provide support and guidance to field team members as needed,
• Organize and conduct training on M&E and data collection, compilation and verification for project staff when applicable,
• Develop, improve and update tools for data collection, processing, and analysis.
• Promote the vision, mission, and strategic goals of Ana Aqra Association.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Data Science, Statistics or any related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position specifically in the design and implementation of M&E in humanitarian and development projects implemented by national/international NGOs.
• Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis, and production of reports.
• Proven ICT skills, especially in Management Information Systems (MIS) and database software: Access, Microsoft office…
• Expertise in analyzing data using statistical software (SPSS)
• Strong training & facilitation skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in Arabic and English.
• Ability to plan, coordinate, and organize workload while remaining aware of changing priorities and competing deadlines.
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff and partners to facilitate the provision of support.
