Job purpose
The typical responsibilities of the teacher include teaching, student management, administrative tasks and extracurricular activities.
He/ she plans, organizes and implements an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
Duties and responsibilities
A teacher duties and responsibilities may include the following:
Planning, preparing and delivering lessons to all students in the class; in order to facilitate active learning experiences.
Developing schemes of work and lesson plans on a daily basis.
Establishing and communicating clear objectives for all learning activities.
Preparing classroom for class activities.
Teaching according to the educational needs, abilities and achievement of the individual students and groups of students.
Providing a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
Identifying and selecting different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs.
Observing and evaluating student's performance and development.
Providing appropriate feedback on work.
Encouraging, monitoring and promoting the general progress and wellbeing of individual students.
Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress, attainment and behavior of one’s students.
Managing student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
Performing certain pastoral duties including student support, counseling students with academic and behavior problems and providing student encouragement.
Participating in school, teachers and parent meetings.
Communicating necessary information regularly to facilitators regarding student progress and student needs.
Registering and monitoring the attendance of students under one’s care.
Nurturing a culture where teachers view themselves essentially as facilitators of learning and reflective practitioners.
Qualifications
Degree in Education, Arabic Literature and/ or Teaching Diploma.
Previous experience in teaching.
Willingness to work with children who have experienced psychological trauma.
Have an outgoing and caring personality.
Self-motivator
Be a team worker.
Ability to multitask.
Critical thinking (verbal and written critical thinking).
Stress tolerance.
Flexibility and adaptability.
Communication skills.
Attention to details.
Responsibilities within the Internal Control System
Ana Aqra Association's Internal Control Systems (ICS) encompass a set of rules, policies, and procedures that the organization implements to provide reasonable assurance that:
(a) Its financial reports are reliable,
(b) Its operations are effective and efficient, and
(c) Its activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.
The organization's board of directors, management, and other personnel are responsible for the internal control system. Thus, a Teacher is responsible for the ICS and non-compliance will result in direct dismissal.
Confidentiality
All documents are confidential and should not be shared with any person without the consent of the Early Grade Reading (EGR) Facilitator. Information requests from outsiders are forwarded to the (EGR) Facilitator, which in turn will be forwarded to Project Coordinator. The Teacher shall assist grantors' visitation when they are visiting the schools. At that time, the teacher shall answer questions, share information; show documents etc. to facilitate the visit.
