The Fellowship & Research Grants Manager is responsible for developing, establishing and overseeing the various fellowships and research grants programs of the ACSS (www.theacss.org) and is also responsible for the development and management of Working Groups.
Main accountabilities:
Designing the call for applications, determining eligibility criteria and developing time schedule;
Disseminating the call for proposals;
Responding to queries from potential applicants;
Conducting an initial review of proposals to screen for eligibility;
Communicating with the selection committee, facilitating their meetings, and following up on their decisions;
Coordinating with the legal counsel to finalize relevant contracts;
Setting up financial and administrative oversight (and reporting mechanisms) for grantees;
Monitoring grantees’ progress
Developing the terms of reference (TORs) for coordinators of working groups;
Developing the time-line for the activity;
Convening first meeting of coordinators and then supporting coordinators as they establish their working groups and begin research activities
Knowledge, Technical Skills, and Experience:
At least 5 years management of similar activities;
Knowledge of applicable policies and regulations;
Experience with budgeting, business planning, human resource and administration management;
Perfect knowledge of Arabic and English. French is an asset.
