The internship will be based within the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC), a program of the Arab Foundation for Freedoms and Equality. What we do: Gender and Sexuality knowledge centers and institutions exist primarily outside the Arab world. Despite the wealth of research conducted about the region, few resources are published in Arabic and pronounced gaps remain undealt with. The Gender and Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC) aims to address knowledge gaps and create an alternative site of knowledge production in Arabic. Scope of operations: - Resource aggregation, mapping, and documentation - Production of knowledge and resources - Training, talks, and seminars - Guiding research and sharing expertise The GSRC is an information hub that brings together activists, academics, and researchers who work and produce knowledge on Gender and Sexuality in the MENA region. Some of the GSRC's projects include initiatives like Dardashat Jandariya, as well as Kohl: A Journal for Body and Gender Research. The intern will be responsible for the maintenance of internal records, public platforms, with some work related to social media, research, data cleaning, note-taking, and general project support. The intern will be learning about activism and research in the area of Gender, Sexuality, and Bodily Rights in the Middle East and North Africa region.
