MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare MEAL Plan for the Program

Play a leading role in the planning and facilitation of data collection for post-distribution monitoring (PDM), baseline/endline 

surveys, price monitoring and beneficiaries registration ;

Support the development of MEAL tools;

Help collect, enter, clean and analyse data needed for the Output Tracker and Indicator Performance Tracking Tables (IPTTs) with support of Grants Unit Director;

Lead the use of digital data collection tools and ensure that proper orientation/training is provided to MEAL assistants and enumerators in the use  new tools;

Work with programme teams and partners to ensure the quality of data reported; identify errors/inconsistency and notify MEAL Coordinator and Program Director;

Support programme teams with data collection and entry processes if needed

Develop and manage databases as required.

Produce reports including narrative analysis and visual representation of data.

Ensure effective storage of assessments, surveys, monitoring data and evaluations in shared folders

Support Meal Assistants to Conduct community visits including surveys, interviews and focus group discussions with beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries to receive feedback on programmes

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

Degree in a relevant Social Sciences Field such as Population and Demographic Studies,

Previous relevant experience, such as data collection, data analysis, research or reporting

Strong written and oral communication skills

Strong computer skills including in Microsoft Excel and Word (experience of other statistical analysis software such as Microsoft Access, SPSS or Epi Info a bonus)

Experienced in using digital data collection tools such as Kobo;

Ability to present data, for example through graphs

Ability to analyse and summarize information

Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to work calmly under pressure in a rapidly changing context

Ability to be adaptable and flexible

Ability and willingness to travel regularly into the field to conduct surveys, support community partners and check data.

Fluency in written and spoken English 

Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy

Commitment  to  and  understanding  of AFE's aim,  values  and principles  including rights-based approaches
