Seminar facilitator

Background

The Arab Foundation for Freedom and Equality (AFE) is aiming to recruit an expert consultant to facilitate a 3 day seminar to discuss the lessons learned throughout the LGBT movement in Lebanon and Tunisia and to deliver a report of the findings of this seminar. The Seminar is part of a project  implemented by AFE, Helem, LebMASH, Seeds and Hivos.

B) Objective

The objective is to organize and facilitate a seminar of three days in Tunis to discuss the lessons learned throughout the LGBT movement in Lebanon and Tunisia at the end of June 2018 and to produce well-written report documenting the findings of the seminar.

Scope of Work and Expected Outputs

Develop a relevant and appropriate methodology of the work and approach leading to the objective in on-going and close consultations with parties engaged in Lebanon and Tunisia. Collect, review and analyze all the necessary and related documents provided by the engaged parties either in Lebanon or Tunisia

Collection of all the required\related data/information from various sources, including governmental sources, International sources and local\regional publications...

Undertake review, assessment and judgment of the data/information in close consultation with the parties engaged

Draft the relevant agenda of the seminar and role of each party with a very detailed timeline facilitate based on his\er assessment on what is the best approach to utilize.

Facilitate the seminar in Tunis and will be capable of running a very smooth and productive seminar in terms of internal dynamics and significant results.

Produce a well-written and comprehensive two reports. One detailing the process of the seminar and its dynamics (minutes, best stories, ....) and the second a documentary report over the LGBT movement in Lebanon and the anal test in Tunisia

Qualifications

A post-graduate or equivalent qualification/ degree in management, business, public health or similar fields.

At least 2 to 4 years of prior work experience in documentation of movements

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in undertaking and organizing seminars

Relevant regional experience, especially about Tunisia, will be an added advantage.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in consultancy work and producing well- written reports

Excellent Arabic writing skills

Be able to traveling to Tunisia in case needed in order to meet with concerned and engaged parties and prepare for the seminar

Duration of the Work

The duration of the consultancy contract  shall be for a maximum of 3 months. Starting on April 15 and ending on July 15

Payment Schedule

50% on signing the contract and submission of a draft of the methodology

20% on completion of two days seminar

30% on submission of the two final requested reports\documents
