Parenting Project Coordinator

1. BACKGROUND: 

The Arab Resource Collective (ARC) is a non-governmental regional organization. ARC’s mission is to work with partners on producing and disseminating knowledge, promoting policies and developing human resources in order to translate rights into reality. ARC targets children and youth within their environment, and focuses on health, education and protection.

 

HEPPP (Health, Early Learning, Protection, Parenting Program) is a tool that aims to empower the role of parents and caregivers in the care and nurturing of their children. It provides a framework of concepts, knowledge, and exercises that help developing the practices of parents in the education of their children. In addition, it is used in sessions with both mothers and fathers together, and covers many topics from pregnancy and up to eight years.HEPPP -the digital course- is based on the interaction of its participants - individually and independently - with games, multiple choice questions, and video / audio clips.

Parenting Project Coordinator tasks and responsibilities:

 

  1. Coordination:
  • Work under the supervision of the Programs’ Manager and Coordinator.
  • Attend and participate in the meetings with donors and other stakeholders when advised.
  • Work closely with MEAL Coordinator and Research Assistant on tasks of reporting, success stories writing, documentation, research implementation, plan creation to track the HEPPP’s achievement and other tasks.
  • Coordinate with the focal points and coordinators at the Social Development Center (SDC).
  • Work closely with Administrative Coordinator and provide administrative support when needed.
  • Participate in HEPPP related recruitment when advised by ARC’s Programs Coordinator.
  • Develop TORs and contracts in coordination with ARC’s Administrative Coordinator.

 

  1. Financial Issues:
  • Follow up on the HEPPP budget under the supervision of the Programs Coordinator and Finance Coordinator.

 

  1. HEPPP’s Work Plan:
  • Lead and follow up on the action plan implementation of the HEPPP Program
  • Manage and coordinate the HEPPP parenting program
  • Ensure the alignment of the HEPPP action plan and activities with the HEPPP strategy
  • Work closely with ARC Management Team to plan and execute meetings
  • Plan field visits to the centers.
  • Participate in field work with partners.
  • Recruit and train mentors.
  • Follow up and get constant feedback from mentors and research team.
  • Follow up on communication and kits distribution for families.

 

 

  1. Content and Training Related Tasks:
  • Ensure content is aligned with HEPPP’s vision and ARC’s ethics and language.
  • Follow up on a new Curriculum components development.
  • Plan for TOT (Training of Trainers).
  • Participate in trainings.
  • Participate in content developers’ recruitment.
  • Ensure the quality of the language of external-facing publications (editing, proofreading, mainly in Arabic) including concept notes, proposals, and reports and any translations.      
  • Follow up with content developers on sessions development.
  • Follow up with Video production team on sessions development.
  • Follow up with Graphic Designer on sessions development.
  • Follow up with translators and editors on sessions development.
  • Follow up with ICT team on sessions development.

 

  1. Reporting and quality:
  • Generate Urjouha work plan and objectives reports on Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly basis.
  • Report monthly, quarterly and yearly or as directed by the donors.
  • Participate in ARC’s:
    • Yearly/Monthly/Weekly Programs Milestones
    • Monthly Milestones Reports
    • Annual Report

 

 

  1. Event Planning:
  • Organize HEPPP related events.
  • Represent HEPPP in conferences, webinars, and events when needed.

 

 

  1. Proposal Writing and Programs Reporting
  • Provide proposal and report writing support, as requested, with order, clarity, style, and consistent terminology.

And any other research-related tasks that might be needed.

 

Parenting Project Coordinator qualifications:

  • BA in Early Childhood Education and Development or related fields (MA, management and coordination skills are assets) 
  • 3+ years of experience in the field of advocacy and coordination
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others and towards shared objectives.
  • Knowledge in parenting
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and follow through on issues promptly.
  • Ability to clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to the members to engage them and allow them to better participate.
  • Ability to generate innovative solutions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and towards tight deadlines maintaining effective performance
  • Fluency in Arabic and English. French is an added value.
