Arcenciel is seeking the services of a Grants Acquisition and Fundraising Consultant/Consulting Agency for defining and running the grants acquisition and fundraising functions of the organization including maintaining existing initiatives, creating a communication and fundraising plan in alignment with the organization overall strategy and approved budget.
The main aim of this consultancy is to:
- Create fundraising plans and help in implementing and evaluating those plans.
- Meet defined fundraising targets, objectives and aspirations.
- Provide independent advice and support in developing strategic and operational plans.
- Explore and develop strategies for the long-term sustainability of the organization.
- Compile and maintain a database of international and local donor organizations (international foundations, bilateral and multilateral agencies and private corporations offering donations)
- Regularly monitor donor websites and identify and inform about donor opportunities matching the work of arcenciel.
- Write concept notes, project ideas and project proposals and ensure their timely submission.
- Undertake online research and build contacts with potential individual donors and raise funds for the activities of the organization.
- Maintain relationships with existing donors and respond to their requests regularly and keep updating them about the work of the organization.
- Suggest other innovative ideas for effective resource mobilization.
- Manage supplemental materials and annexes required for grant proposals.
- Identify information gaps blocking proposal completion and secure the necessary information to complete.
- Recommend structural changes in the organization to improve fundraising efficiency.
- Train and motivate fundraising officers, program managers and other key stakeholders in all aspects of fundraising.
- Familiarity with requirements of the key donor partners including US Grants (DRL, INL MEPI), DFID, DFATD, UN Agencies and the EU.
For each task the consultant will be working closely with the programs manager and the external relations manager at Arcenciel throughout the duration of the consultancy.
Deliverables:
- Meet fundraising targets as indicated by the organization’s management
- Introduce new donors to the organization’s work and follow up with them.
- Maintain a healthy relationship with the existing donors
- Design a communication plan for the corporate fundraising strategy
- Co-design with arcenciel programs tailor made project proposals and submit them
Timeline and Location of the Consultancy:
The total duration of the consultancy is over a period of three months starting on March 1 and ending on May 31
The location is recommended to be at arcenciel’s premises. It also can be done virtually given the critical economic/health situation in Lebanon.
Desired Qualifications and Required Competencies:
- Master's degree in English/Communications/Journalism/Marketing preferred.
- More than five (5) years of relevant experience in fundraising and grants acquisition.
- More than five (5) years of proven experiences with key donor partners including US Grants (DRL, INL MEPI), DFID, DFATD, UN Agencies and the EU.
- Proven record of successfully managing similar consultancies with NGOs/INGOs.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic – French is a plus
- Strong skills in writing and editing.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels.
- Solid understanding of standard corporate proposal formats and templates.
- Must be highly organized with proven skills managing and tracking assignments and deadlines.
- Ability to edit or rewrite sections of proposals to ensure readability and adherence to win themes
- Must be detail oriented and have the ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment on multiple priority projects
- Ability to work independently, including prioritizing within demanding time frames.
- Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders including community based organizations, local NGOs, local government and officials, donors, and colleagues;
- Excellent organization and planning skills.
- Quick learner, agile, flexible, adaptable to different organizational cultures and operating environments.

The Consultant will be selected based on quality (mostly Consultant’s qualifications), the candidate’s experience in Grants Acquisition and Fundraising for national and international non-governmental organizations, the knowledge and skills in Grants Acquisition and Fundraising, in addition to the understanding of social entrepreneurship and sustainable development projects in Lebanon.
Upon shortlisting of potential consultant’s/consulting agencies, physical interviews will be held to further assess the eligibility and qualifications required.
