Assist the special education teacher in providing children with disabilities with learning activities and experiences designed to help them reach their full potential, fostering a more inclusive and equitable society.
1. Collaborate with the teacher to enhance the learning environment and organize classroom resources and materials:
- Support the teacher in promoting an appropriate learning environment.
- Support the teacher in preparing the classroom resources and the needed material.
2. Maintain a safe and clean environment for children’s well-being and learning:
- Coordinate with the nurse to ensure the health of the children under the supervision of the special education teacher.
- Participate in developing hygienic, food and clothing autonomy at children.
- Maintain safe, clean and effective classroom.
- Check up regularly on the class maintenance and report any maintenance issue.
- Ensure the safety of the children during the bus trips in the early morning and in the afternoon.
- Ensure a safe pick up of the children from the bus to the classroom and vice versa.
3. Facilitate parent communication, attendance tracking, and professional relationships:
- Make sure that all messages to the parents are shared in a professional and an efficient way under the supervision of the special education teacher.
- Follow up with the parents on the attendance of their children andrecord all the absences and the reasons behind.
- Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Attend and participate in all required meetings and trainings.
