KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic Communication & Messaging
- Develop and implement a communication and outreach strategy aligned with LPDC’s mandate and priorities.
- Draft and adapt LPDC’s key messages, talking points, and public statements into clear, accessible, and visually engaging formats.
- Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all platforms and materials.
- Media Monitoring & Analysis
- Monitor and scan local, regional, and international media outlets and social media platforms of LPDC and developments related to the Palestinian file.
- Conduct basic media and content analysis to inform LPDC’s messaging and visibility efforts.
- Content Creation & Digital Engagement
- Draft and manage content for LPDC’s website, social media channels, and other digital platforms.
- Maintain and regularly update LPDC’s online presence, ensuring timely and relevant communication.
- Stay informed on Lebanese and Palestinian events and activities to support dynamic and responsive content creation.
- Strong engagement with M and E and the broader team to leverage content from project progress and success stories
- Policy Communication
- Support the communication and public engagement around LPDC’s roadmap for a national policy framework related to the governance of Palestinian camps in Lebanon.
- Translate complex policy developments into accessible formats for diverse audiences.
- Cultural Outreach & Public Engagement
- Contribute to the planning, promotion, and coverage of cultural events and initiatives that foster Lebanese Palestinian dialogue and shared heritage.
- Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to amplify the impact of cultural programming within LPDC’s outreach agenda.
- Event Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
- Assist in organizing public events, workshops, and campaigns that promote LPDC’s work and engage key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships with media professionals, cultural actors, and community leaders.
- Crisis & Conflict Reporting
- Support general reporting on emergent conflicts or incidents in Lebanon and the MENA region that may impact LPDC’s mandate or public perception.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in communication, media relations, or outreach, preferably in a policy or advocacy setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of LPDC’s mandate and the Palestinian context in Lebanon.
- Proven experience working with leading local newspapers, with ongoing active engagement in media work.
- Strong access to and familiarity with the Palestinian file and context in Lebanon.
- Strong writing and editing skills in Arabic and English; French is an asset.
- Experience managing social media and digital communication tools.
- Proven ability to engage with diverse audiences and communicate complex issues clearly.
- Experience in event planning and stakeholder engagement, especially in cultural and community-based initiatives.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Workload and availability
- Part-time position with flexible working hours, to be agreed upon with the Director.
- Availability for key meetings, events, and deadlines is essential.
- Occasional camps field visits within Lebanon may be required.
