ARK Group DMCC is a stabilisation, development and conflict transformation consultancy that provides research-informed analysis and policy recommendations, as well as evidence-based interventions, in conflict-affected areas from the Palestinian camps of Lebanon and Yemen to Iraq and Syria on behalf of public and private sector clients.  Working with and through local communities, we seek to understand and then mitigate the negative effects of conflict and instability to enhance community safety and promote human security, development and economic opportunity.

We have a highly dynamic, capable, multinational team with offices in Dubai, Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, London and Washington DC.

Background

ARK is implementing a year-long quantitative research project (four surveys targeting 5000 respondents each carried out on a quarterly basis) is support of a major international organization’s stabilization and development efforts in Lebanon.

Tasks & Responsibilities

POSITION OBJECTIVE

ARK is seeking dynamic Data Collectors to conduct field surveys.

DUTIES

• Locate and visit households as per a defined sampling plan.

• Conduct an average of twelve surveys per day.

• Ask questions in accordance with instructions to obtain various specified information.

• Explain survey objectives and procedures to respondents and interpret survey questions to help respondents’ comprehension.

• Assist individuals in filling out surveys.

• Review data obtained from interview for completeness and accuracy.

• Compile and record data from surveys, using a computer or a specified form.

• Identify and report problems in obtaining valid data.

• Coordinate movements with the direct supervisor and report on daily activities.

• Undertake basic security assessments prior to visiting a given area.

• Attend training workshops and coordination meetings as required.

Requirements

Experience Required: A minimum of 2 years in a similar position.

• Education: Graduate degree in a relevant field such as HR, Accounting and Administration.

Required skills

• Previous experience in conducting large-scale surveys.

• Holder of a College degree (a Bachelor is a plus)

• The ability and willingness to travel to all areas within North Lebanon

• Excellent command of written and spoken Arabic (English is a plus)

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Candidate must be resident of Keserwan and Beirut with strong local knowledge of the area.
