Assessment Expert - Csos

Hiring an expert to conduct needs assessment for CSOs. Mapping of needs of 65 CSO’s and Cooperatives Region: North Lebanon; Akkar Assessment objective: Identify training needs for capacity building Beneficiaries: 65 Civil Society Organizations including Agriculture Cooperatives Staring date: 1 October Delivery Date: End of October  Project Brief: CSO’s and cooperatives in Akkar face a set of internal and external challenges; therefore, in order to support them in assuming their role in supporting their communities and acting as agents of socio-economic and reform agents, their capacity building needs must be identified. Identifying needs includes assessing the needs of the selected beneficiaries initially and identifying the skills they need to ensure institutional and developmental sustainability. This will result in developing and implementing a tailored training program. Scope: Identify the capacity building needs of 65 CSO’s and cooperatives based on the initial application form and one on one meetings and interviews based on three major segments:  - Organizational Capacities: identify mission and objectives, legal framework, human resources and skills, process and management, previous experience and projects - Financial capacities: accounting systems, budgets, audits, software and tools - Development and reform capacities and long term impact: advocacy and governance, social capital, public private partnerships.  Main tasks: -       Conduct the mapping of needs -       Report analysis based on scientific methods and generation of brief report for each beneficiary which will act as a major document for personalized coaching -       Produce a summary on the training needs -       Match & suggest the training topics with the training needs   This will lead to modelling the capacity building program, as such knowing exactly the needs of each beneficiary will support in focusing the trainings and exercises to enhance their skills. Ultimately the 65 CSO’s will have capacities at the institutional, management and strategic levels.  Experience: 5 years similar experience in CSO/NGO assessment Good writing and narrative skills
