Community Based Promoter

The CBP reports to Social Worker (SW), who in turn, coordinates with the relevant partner organization(s) on the provision of administrative support in General overview of Protection Officer Community Services in order to carry out the following: 

 

Roles:

 

  1. Establish a link between INTERSOS, NABAD and the refugee community and coordinate between them;
  2. Report to SW high risk cases that are in need of urgent support or assistance;
  3. Identify refugees with specific needs, provide them with necessary support and refer them to the existing services;
  4. Deliver information from INTERSOS and NABAD to the community about the existing programs, activities, and services according to the directives and principles of the agency (shaped as info sessions);
  5. Organize and provide learning activities, recreational activities, life skills, and other activities at the CDC level and through outreach
  6. Supervise and support with skill trainings
  7. Proactively support NABAD and INTERSOS in the Community Services Programme, in the designing, implementation and development of the Community Services related activities, linked with Community Development Centers and in line with the Community Based Approach Strategy;

                                                                                                                          

General Duties:

 

  1. Ensure a safe and child-friendly atmosphere within the center; Work comfortably with diversity/all target groups; and ensure implementation of inclusive activities.
  2. Availability to participate in meetings and trainings in/out of the centers;
  3. Pledge to work with the refugees with respect and dignity and act responsibly, in line with all of protection principles with a special focus on DO NO HARM principle;
  4. Behave properly and positively with refugees and respect the norms of International law; 
  5. Treat refugees equally without discrimination in accordance with the principles and standards of INTERSOS (Act according to the CPIE Minimum standards);
  6. Work with the SW and the SSW in the planning, elaboration and designing of the activities for all beneficiaries under the general supervision of the Protection Officer for Community Services and accordingly to INTERSOS guidelines;
  7. Deliver the community empowerment activities in the absence or presence of the SSW if requested; Ensuring ability to deliver activities with different working modalities (in person, remotely/virtually or hybrid) when required through encouraging the participation of the Refugee community, notably the most vulnerable, ensuring proper attention is paid to any specific emotional and physical needs / difficulties.
  8. Ensure integration with community structures in support for the SW and the SSWs for effective empowerment, follow up, engagement, and monitoring.
  9. Coordinate with the SW for new updates and information to be fully capable of spreading correct information at info desk services and/or remotely on the CDC helpline.  Ensure the mandatory presence/cover the absences of colleagues at the info desk; 
  10. Flexible to accompany the SW to INTERSOS & NABAD CDCs catchments areas, collective shelter (including child friendly space); Ensure ability to work inside and outside the CDCs (mobilization and outreach work);
  11. Abide to the code of conduct (Act according to the guiding principles of S/GBV and Child Protection case management including: survivor centered approach, respect of confidentiality, prioritize according to safety concerns, ensure a non-discriminatory approach; Act according to the best interest of the beneficiary, ensure accountability, respect professional boundaries and avoid conflict of interest; 
  12. Effective participation in the CDCs events (provide ideas and suggestions for the preparation of proposals and during implementation of those activities); 
  13. Ensure effective reporting of relevant activities (daily narrative, pre/post report, daily reporting, etc…) and establishment of schedule
  14. Follow instructions of SW  in regards to materials consumption, refreshments consumption, and others; Support the SSW in checking the CDC assets and equipment and report any damage directly;
  15. Ensure effective follow up of the participation of beneficiaries in activities
  16. Act as a replacement of the SW during Annual leaves, meetings, etc…
  17. Ensure providing effective input for CDC reporting and in other information gathering activities (FGDs, SWOT, etc..)
  18. Accomplish any other assignments given by supervisors;
