Peer to Peer Facilitator

Scope of the job:

  • The peer to peer GBV facilitator will be supporting and coaching key actors/ stakeholders/ social workers from governmental and non-governmental actors in various locations in Bekaa.  
  • Peer facilitators will be responsible in delivering awareness sessions and trainings on GBV related topics for the objective of changing social norms that are the main cause of GBV. Facilitators can use their life experiences and knowledge in GBV to assist individuals to implement initiatives and events that will help in decreasing GBV in the community.

    Job Description:
     
  • Developing and conducting workshops/trainings related to GBV concepts and definitions/ consequences and others
  • Organizing, coaching and mentoring sessions for the peer groups
  • Contributing to development of GBV materials, training manuals, tools, and other resources as needed
  • Support peer groups in the planning of GBV events and initiatives.
  • Develop materials for GBV training in coordination with NABAD partners and the Protection Officer/ Coordinator.
     

  • Train peer groups on GBV manuals and that are relevant to participants and will complement the trainings, sessions and workshops, when needed.
  • Provide coaching sessions on safe identification and referral to the peer groups
  • Follow up the implementation of the GBV peer sessions and provide technical support when needed.
  •  Provide report on a weekly/monthly basis the achievements, progress and challenges faced.
  • Coordinate closely with health, education and key stakeholders in the area to provide information regarding GBV and to strengthen the referral mechanism.
  • Work closely with GBV staff (case workers, facilitators) to refer cases in need for additional service.
  • Prepare and conduct workshop for the peer groups in each governorate based on the needs
  • Conduct weekly or monthly meetings with the peers and when needed
  • Build the peer groups skills and knowledge on sensitizing GBV information to community and how to deal with complex situations.
  • Provide support to the peers in planning for events and initiatives in the community.
  • Liase with Nabad finance and logistic team for the request of materials
  • Close coordination with NABAD MEL team to use the appropriate documentation for evaluation of activities.
  • Develop monitoring and evaluation tools for the peer groups and update them regularly.
  • Submit trainings and learning session’s reports to protection officer on a monthly basis.
  • Follow up with peer groups on regular basis and coordinate with GBV Focal points in different location.
